The 4CX1000A electron tube is a cermet structure, an oxide cathode, and a forced air-cooled beam tetrode. Its maximum board consumption is 1000W. Due to its high gain, it is advantageous for use as an AB1 type RF linear amplifier and audio amplifier. At the highest rated anode voltage of 3 kV, a peak-to-peak output power of 1630 W can be generated. Two tubes work in class AB1 and can produce 3260W of audio output power.

The electron tube is a device that controls electric current flow in a high vacuum between electrodes to which an electric potential difference has been applied. The type known as a thermionic tube or thermionic valve uses the phenomenon of thermionic emission of electrons from a heated cathode and is used for a number of fundamental electronic functions such as signal amplification and current rectification.
